​CERTIFICATE OF DESIGN COMPLIANCE 

A Certificate of Design Compliance (CDC) is required in order to obtain a building permit from the permit authority (your local council) to construct a new building or new incidental structure. 

​CERTIFICATE OF CONSTRUCTION COMPLIANCE

A Certificate of Construction Compliance (CCC) is required in order to obtain an Occupancy Permit from the permit authority (your local council) to occupy a newly completed or a partly completed class 2 - class 9 building. The Occupancy Permit is required for a permanent change of use or classification, authorizing and occupying an unauthorized building work.

CERTIFICATE OF BUILDING COMPLIANCE

A Certificate of Building Compliance (CBC) is required in order to obtain an Occupancy Permit and/or a Building Approval Certificate. The Building Approval Certificate confirms that the building has been assessed by a registered building surveyor for compliance. You can apply for a Building Approval Certificate if you choose to obtain Retrospective Approval for unauthorized building work associated with a class 1 or class 10 building or incidental structure.
